Atresmedia TV logra la cobertura informativa líder del 28M con un 18,3% y cerca de 2,4 millones de espectadores

Atresmedia TV once again asserted its position as a leading news provider during a major election event in Spain. During the May 28th elections where Spaniards voted for their regional and municipal representatives, Atresmedia TV dominated the coverage with an average share of 18.3% and nearly 2.4 million viewers (2,395,000) across its primary channels, Antena 3 and laSexta.

In addition, Atresmedia’s web pages had a positive response with triple the previous results from four years ago. On the day of the 28M elections, Antena 3, laSexta, and OndaCero had 5 million unique users and 11.7 million page views.

Committed to its journalistic duty, Atresmedia devoted the prime-time slots on its major channels to cover the elections for three and a half hours from 9:29 PM to 12:00 AM. These broadcasts reached nearly 11 million unique viewers (10,884,000) and were the preferred choice for audiences, leading the regional options (17.6%), public television channels (9.4%), and other private operators. The coverage was also the top option for both male and female audiences (at 19.3% and 17.4% respectively), target commercial audiences (at 20%), and all viewers under the age of 55, with the largest victory margin among viewers aged 25-44, ahead of 21%.

Antena 3 became the leading national television channel of the day (10.4%) and achieved a prime-time share (10.5%) that was one point higher than its competitor. The election special by Antena 3 Noticias, anchored by Vicente Valles in the prime-time slot, was the most-watched election coverage of the day with 1.5 million followers, 11.4%, and more than 7.5 million unique viewers.

Also, the Antena 3 Noticias 1 broadcast became the most-watched of the day, with over 1.9 million average followers, 18.4%, and over 3.1 million unique viewers. This broadcast, led by Matías Prats and Mónica Carrillo, was the dominant preference among viewers.

laSexta became the prime-time leader, registering a 5.5% share and outpacing its direct competition by more than four points, thanks to the special ‘ARV: Objective Elections: Results’ which reached 5,642,000 unique viewers, over 1.1 million average viewers, and a 7.4% share. The broadcast had excellent ratings among viewers aged 25-34 (11.2%).

Atresmedia’s digital services saw a surge in viewership, with antena3.com, laSexta.com, and Ondacero.es having 5 million unique users and nearly 12 million page views.

Ondacero was the radio reference point for following the election day with its website and app having more than 1.3 million unique users, four times greater than the previous Sunday. In comparison to the 2019 municipal and regional elections, ondacero.es experienced a 1453% increase in unique users and a 752% growth compared to the general elections of 2019. The consumption of live audio increased by 130% compared to the previous four Sundays. The ‘Elecciones 28M’ special, anchored by Carlos Alsina, had 110,000 web and app listeners. The news services’ deployment, the ‘Elecciones 28M’ special, real-time election results, and viewing generated over 2.8 million page views, an increase of 391% compared to the previous Sunday.
